Buy truth and do not sell it,
get wisdom and instruction and understanding.

Proverbs 23:23

Have you heard the phrase, “Follow the money”? It’s the mantra of news agencies, government agencies, whistleblowers, and many others. If you want to find out what is behind someone’s intentions, follow where the money coming from and how is it being spent. And that is the essence of our key verse today.

The Truth should be of such importance in your life, that when others want to know what makes you tic, what is at the foundation of your life…they follow the ‘money’ of your life; that they will find The Truth! In New Testament terms they should find Christ in us, which is The Truth in us!

1 Peter 3:15

But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account got for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, If, anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Philippians 3:14

I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

We are in Christ! We are in His Truth! His Mercy! His Grace! Truth, wisdom, instruction, understanding can all be found in Christ…and because of Him…in us!

Why would we ever want to live life like we are not in Him? Why would we ‘sell the truth’ and ‘buy’ the world’s lies? Why would we want to turn away from what we know is true? Why do we refuse to use God’s whole armor, including the belt of truth, and then wonder why our lives are in shambles?

Do Not Sell Truth!

Joshua 24:14

Now, therefore, fear the LORD and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD.
