God is wisdom! He is understanding! He is knowledge! He didn’t have to create wisdom because it is the very heart of who he is. And He used is vast wisdom and understanding and knowledge to create the world, our galaxy and our universe…the very heavens! And it didn’t take Him millions of years to do that. Just six days, that is all six 24 hr days. Of course, a vast majority of people call that poppycock and they can say what they want to say. But, how is millions of years and, now, billions of years any less poppycock? How much more faith is needed to believe that a tiny, itty bitty genome somehow and in some unknown way duplicated itself, etc…/etc…/etc… If that doesn’t take blind faith, I don’t know what does. 

Honestly, if I cannot believe Genesis chapters one through eleven then I might as well be an atheist and cling to the billions of years and believe that when I die and I will just be gone into nothingness. Because trying to put billions of years into the Holy Word of God is just plain impossible. Once you do that, you can explain away every miracle. You will question every intervention of God and you will certainly just pick and choose which commandments you might consider implementing into society. Even the Gospel is reduced to meaningless ‘hope this’ and ‘just believe…well something’ discussion groups. 

There are really only two options that make any sense at all. The Bible is true in its entirety and should be the foundation for all of living both personally and culturally. OR the Bible, in its entirety is not true and can just be tossed out and have no bearing on a personal level or within a world culture. To try and pick and choose which bits and pieces of the Bible we want to believe and live by makes no sense. Why believe any of it if any percentage of it is pure poppycock? If we say we believe the Bible except for Genesis 1-11 or the miracles or the virgin birth or Jesus’ resurrection, there really isn’t a whole lot left to believe. For as is seen here in our key verse and many others; the Bible references itself back to Genesis. So, throw all those verses out. Jesus quotes the Old Testament over 100 times so throw out all those things Jesus said! And on and on and on…
